How to Jam with Kids and Teens
How does Kids + Teen access work on Jam?
Kids and teens can safely use Jam with special settings that allow parents to choose their level of access. When you add or invite a kid or caregiver to Jam, you can select and assign which role is most appropriate for them (Little Kid, Big Kid or Teen) which dictates what they can see and do on Jam. Younger kids, for example, can only see their own schedule whereas Teens can take a more active role in creating their own scheduling and lists.
What are the different Kid Settings?
Parents can choose from three different choices for their kids, Little Kid, Big Kid and Teen.
How can I control what my kids can do on Jam? I don't want them deleting anything important!
Kids (teens included) cannot delete events, To Dos or Shopping List items created by the adults in the family. When you choose the role for them, you're able to control their level of access, including what they can see and edit (and what they can't). In addition, when you create new lists, you can also specify if they should be shared with other family members or not.
My kids don't have phones yet - can they still use Jam?
Yes! Jam is available to see in many ways besides the phone:
- iPad/Tablets (Apple + Android)
- Computer/Laptop/Chromebook
- Amazon Echo Devices or any device in which you can access the web
- Screencast onto a television or screen in your home
