How to Invite Family Members to Jam
Jam is all about getting the entire family on the same page. When you invite family members, they can be part of your family’s Jam account and take part in the lists and calendars.
What’s the difference between adding a family member and inviting them?
Everyone in the family should be added (even little kids) so that they can get their own column and be selected for events. This is a key part of the Jam calendar system and makes family scheduling much easier!
Inviting a family member means you are inviting them to access the family Jam account (via email invitation). We recommend inviting partners, kids aged 5 and up and caregivers so they can see everything that is happening on Jam.
How do I invite family members?
If you added a family member with an email address during registration, then an invite was automatically sent to them. If not, follow the instructions below:
- Click on My Profile
- Click on Manage my Family.
- Select the family member you would like to invite or click Add Family Member
- Add email address for the family member(s) you’d like to invite to your Jam account.
- The user will receive an email inviting them to join your account.
Once the family member clicks on the invite link, they will be directed to create their own User Name and password in Jam. Once completed, they will be made part of the family and will be able to access the family’s calendars and shared lists on Jam.
How do I add family members?
You may have added your family during registration, but if not, you can always do so by:
- Click on My Profile
- Click on Manage my Family.
- Click Add Family Member
When you add family members, you can assign them as Adults, Teens, Big Kids, Little Kids or Caregivers. For more information on our Jam Family Access settings, click here.
How do I resend an invite?
To resend an invite, go to My Profile and then click Manage my Family. Click on the family member you wish to re-invite and press the resend button (looks like a refresh icon).
Can invited family members see everything on my Jam account?
Not necessarily!
- Adults can see all calendars, though they can choose to filter out the calendars they prefer not to see (for example, a partner’s work calendar).
- Teens can see all calendars, though they can filter out calendars they prefer not to see. Teens also cannot edit events for other family members.
- Big Kids and Little Kids can only see their own calendars.
- Caregivers can only see the calendars you have given them access to.
To Do and Shopping Lists can be seen by all, some or just one member of the family. When you create the list you decide if it's private and who can see it. (This comes in handy for personal to do lists and things revolving around birthdays and surprises!)
Will I get charged extra for inviting additional members to my family?
Nope. Your Jam subscription covers your entire family!
