How to use your Jam Family Assistant to get everything in Jam
Meet Jaime — your Jam Family Assistant. Jaime is built into the Jam app and helps you add events, To Dos, and more to your family calendar without all the manual tapping and typing.
What Jaime Can Do
Jaime reads what you give it and turns it into a calendar event or a To Do. You can give Jaime input three ways:
- Type what you need in natural language (“Soccer practice Tuesday at 4pm”)
- Speak it using voice input
- Upload a screenshot or photo of a text message, email, flyer, or school notice
Screenshots are especially handy for appointment confirmations that come by text, school flyers with event dates, or emails buried in your inbox.
How to Use Jaime
- Open the Jam app.
- Tap the Jaime icon (look for the assistant/chat icon).
- Choose how you want to give Jaime the details: type, voice, or screenshot/photo upload.
- Jaime will read the input and suggest an event or To Do to add.
- Review the details, make any adjustments, and confirm.
How Jaime Decides Who an Event Is For
When you forward an email or upload a screenshot, Jaime figures out who an event belongs to from the content of the message, not just who sent it. Including the family member’s name helps Jaime assign it correctly.
If Jaime gets it wrong, you can always reassign the event to the right person after it’s created.
Tips
- Screenshots of text messages work well for doctor appointments, playdates, and other events sent via text.
- You can also forward emails directly to Jam to create events — see our guide on Get Jam On It, our email forwarding feature.
- Jaime gets smarter over time as it learns your family’s patterns and preferences.
- Anything Jaime creates can be edited just like any other Jam item — change times, reassign family members, add To Dos and reminders.
