How to Create To Do and Chore Lists in Jam
Jam isn’t just a calendar — it’s also a powerful way to manage your family’s to-do lists, chore charts, and shared tasks. Here’s how to get started.
Creating a To Do List
- Open the Jam app.
- Navigate to the Lists or To Do section.
- Tap + New List or Add List.
- Give your list a name (e.g., “Weekly Chores,” “Grocery Run,” “Beach Trip Packing”).
- Start adding items to your list.
Adding and Managing To Do Items
For each to-do item, you can:
- Assign it to a specific family member
- Set a due date so it shows up as a reminder
- Check it off when complete
- Add notes for extra details
Organizing with Multiple Lists
You can create as many lists as you need to keep things organized. Some ideas:
- Household lists: Weekly chores, cleaning schedule, home maintenance
- Event-related lists: Birthday party prep, vacation packing, back-to-school supplies
- Personal lists: Work tasks, hobby projects, fitness goals (assign only to yourself for privacy)
- Recurring lists: Morning routine checklists, weekly meal prep tasks
Tip: You can create separate lists for different areas of your life and assign them to only yourself if they’re personal, or share them with the whole family.
To Dos from Events
When Jaime identifies actionable items from imported events or emails, it creates To Do items automatically. These are items that can be checked off, assigned, or given a due date.
To manage event-related To Dos:
- Open the event in Jam.
- Look for associated To Dos.
- Adjust due dates, assignments, or details as needed.
Assigning Chores to Family Members
Jam makes it easy to distribute tasks across the family:
- Create a To Do item or chore.
- Tap Assign and select the family member.
- They’ll receive a notification (if notifications are enabled).
- Track completion as family members check off their tasks.
Tips
- Use Jaime to quickly add To Dos by text or voice — just say or type what you need to get done.
- To Dos with due dates will automatically generate reminders.
- Everyone in the family can see shared lists, making it easy to coordinate who’s doing what.
- Consider creating a standing “Event To Dos” list for recurring preparation tasks (e.g., “pack lunch for daycare” or “get babysitter for date night”).
