How to Enable and Manage Notifications in Jam
Notifications help make sure you and your family never miss an event, To Do, or reminder. Here’s how to set them up inside Jam, on your device, and even add extra reminders for events.
1. Enable Notifications in the Jam App
- Open the Jam app.
- Tap your Profile Icon (top right).
- Select Manage Account.
- Tap Notifications.
- Toggle ON the types of notifications you’d like to receive (events, To Dos, shopping lists, etc.).
2. Enable Notifications on Your Device
On iPhone/iPad
- Open your device Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Jam.
- Tap Notifications.
- Toggle Allow Notifications ON.
- Choose your alert style (Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners, and Sounds).
On Android
- Open your device Settings.
- Tap Apps or Apps & Notifications.
- Find and tap Jam.
- Tap Notifications.
- Toggle notifications ON and adjust sound/pop-up preferences.
On Web Browser (Desktop/Laptop)
- Sign in to Jam on your browser.
- When prompted, click Allow to enable notifications.
- If you missed it, adjust in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) by allowing notifications for jamfamilycalendar.com.
3. Add Extra Notifications to Events
You can set more than one reminder for important events.
- Open Jam and create a new event (or edit an existing one).
- Fill in the event details (title, family members, time, etc.).
- Tap Reminders/Notifications.
- Select a time (e.g., 1 day before, 1 hour before, 10 minutes before).
- Tap Add Another Reminder if you’d like multiple alerts.
- Save the event.
All family members assigned to the event will receive the reminders, as long as notifications are enabled in Jam and on their devices.
Tips
- Each family member needs to turn on notifications for their own device/account.
- Events and To Dos with due dates will automatically generate reminders.
- If you’re not receiving alerts, double-check both Jam’s in-app notification settings and your device settings.
With notifications set up, Jam makes it easier to keep your family on track and never miss a practice, appointment, or deadline.
