How to Connect your Apple Calendar

Connecting your Apple Calendar (iCloud) to Jam is a great way to bring your existing schedule into your family’s shared calendar.

Import vs. Sync

  • Import: Brings events into Jam as editable copies. You can modify event details, assign family members, and add To Dos or reminders.
  • Sync: Creates a live, read-only connection. Events update automatically in Jam when changes are made in Apple Calendar, but they can’t be edited inside Jam.

For a full comparison, see How to Connect your External Calendars to Jam.

Tip: If you’re coming from a shared iCloud calendar setup and want notifications when events are added or changed, importing into Jam gives you that plus the ability to assign events to specific family members.

Steps to Connect

  1. Open the Jam app.
  2. Tap your Profile Icon (top right).
  3. Select Manage Account.
  4. Tap Calendars.
  5. Select Apple Calendar.
  6. Sign in with your Apple ID and authorize Jam.
  7. Choose whether to Import or Sync.
  8. Select which Apple calendars you’d like to bring into Jam.

Good to Know

  • Synced Apple Calendar events update in Jam approximately once every hour.
  • Synced events are read-only — edits must be made in Apple Calendar.
  • Imported events are fully editable inside Jam.
  • If you previously shared calendars with family via iCloud, importing into Jam gives you richer features like To Dos, assignments, and push notifications for changes.
